Legislative Advocacy

GET INVOLVED!

Ongoing legislative action supported by WOAR:

National Human Trafficking Hotline Act (SB 338 and HB 235)

The posting will provide a bridge to help for victims of human trafficking, an outlet for tipsters and provide vital resources including training to the public, law enforcement and first responders

We need to generate as many calls as possible to key members of Senate Leadership to ask them to bring SSB 338 to the Senate floor for a vote ASAP. The calls need to go to the following two Senators:

•             Senator Dominic Pileggi (Majority Leader) - 717 787 4712

•             Senator Jake Corman (Appropriations Committee Chair) - 717 787 1377

SB 58, sponsored by Senator Greenleaf, would allow victims of sexual assault to seek a civil protection order following an assault.  The bill was passed by the Senate and is now awaiting movement by the House Judiciary Committee.  Please contact Representative Marsico, Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, at 717-783-2014 and urge him to vote this bill out of committee.
