April 1st marks the start of National Sexual Assault Awareness Month! Did you know that Every 92 seconds someone experiences sexual violence and Every 9 minutes that victim is a child? This year, we invite you to raise awareness and show support for those who have been affected by sexual violence by joining us at one of our events this month.
WOAR’s statement on the confirmation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh. WOAR has been at the forefront of sexual assault survivorship since 1971; we will continue to support survivors of sexual abuse and misconduct today as we always have. We stand with you. We will work hard to do better and ensure that others do better also.
Human Trafficking Grant by VOCA. We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded funding from Victims of Crime Act (VOCA). This funding will support WOAR’s Wrap Around Services for Victims of Human Trafficking.
WOAR’s mission is to eliminate all forms of sexual violence in our communities. We provide specialized treatment services, comprehensive prevention education programs, and advocacy for the rights of the victims of sexual assault, abuse and harassment. We work with survivors regardless of when the violence occurred, and our goal is to empower survivors to heal.
All services provided by WOAR - Philadelphia Center Against Sexual Violence are free of charge and available to anyone in any crisis situation.
