Prevention Workshops

Prevention Workshops that Educate and Build Awareness

Rape and sexual abuse are preventable!

Sexual violence can be stopped. Hundreds of schools, businesses, organizations, and institutions work with WOAR to bring sexual violence prevention training to their communities. You can be a part of the movement to end sexual violence and make your community a safer space.

WOAR’s education and outreach team provides prevention workshops to schools, college campuses and groups, businesses, community-based organizations, social service organizations, and other community groups. Our professional workshops are customized for adults, professionals, parents, teens, and children.

Workshops are single sessions that cover prevention topics and provide an opportunity to learn prevention strategies. These programs raise awareness and prevent sexual assault, child sexual abuse, sexual harassment in the workplace, human trafficking, and teen dating violence. Our workshops provide strategies to stop rape and sexual abuse before it happens.

Some of our workshops cover how to respond appropriately to survivors of sexual assault and how to create school and workplace cultures that reduce the occurrence of sexual assault in the first place. All workshop facilitators are extensively trained WOAR staff.

WOAR’s Professional Development and Community Education training provides professionals and community partners with up-to-date information about sexual violence and related topics. Professionals and community partners attending the trainings will gain knowledge, awareness, and strategies around preventing sexual assault, sexual harassment, and sexual abuse, as well as how to effectively increase protective factors which support efforts to end sexual violence. Organizations can receive on-site training at their location on any of the topics below.

A certificate of participation will be provided. ACT 127 and Act 48 credits will be provided for completing Mandated Reporter Training Workshops.
