Take It All Back 10th Annual March and SPEAKOUT to Raise Awareness of Sexual Violence
With a drumline, an appearance by DJ ALI, and testimony by survivors of sexual assault, Woar’s 10th annual Take It All Back (TIAB) march this past April was a huge success.
[su_quote cite=”Christine Kannegiser, one of the heads of the TIAB organization committee”]It was bigger than I’ve ever seen it before with more registration, walkers, and speakers.[/su_quote]
Participants met at Love Park for a 1.5 mile walk that ended in a SPEAKOUT located at Independence Visitor’s Center. “We especially loved the energy of the drumline,” Kannegiser said, which helped to draw attention to the cause and spread awareness. WOAR would like to say a special THANK YOU to all of the survivors who had the courage to speak out and share their experiences. Their stories were truly inspiring.
WOAR would like to thank the Young Women’s Initiative, Women Against Abuse, Philadelphia FIGHT, Congresso de Latinos Unidos, PAVE Philly, Northeast Treatment Centers CUA1, NET Community Cave – CUA 7, Lutheran Settlement House, all the members of the drumline, the Independence Visitor’s Center, DJ Allie, and Canada Dry for their support in making this the best Take It All Back yet.
